For You Poem by Rhianna McElhinney

For You

Take a second and stop.
Remember how to breathe.
I know your mind plays tricks some times
but please try breathe for me.
Take a minute to remember,
Your heart is yearning to beat.
I know it hurts more than they know
but let it beat for me.
When you reach for a hand,
I hope you'll find mine.
And when you can smile no longer
rest assured I'll help you shine.
Take a day if you want.
I'll reserve a month just for you!
When your head is feeling heavy
just know I'll pull you through.
Time is illusory.
Just a construct of the mind.
But I'll lay the seeds of eternity for you
if in your galaxy your stars realigned.
Take this second to stop.
Please remember to breathe.
You're so much braver than you know
And my heart can never let go.
