For You I Would Try Poem by Silence Dogood

For You I Would Try

I was never the best.
But not quite the worst.
I wanted to be better.
And that was my curse.

I was never perfection.
But for you I would try.
To be the very best.
For just this one time.

And that was the hard part.
To be better than I was.
To be just as good as you.
And it was all because...

I liked you so dearly.
And needed it to show.
I needed to take all my chances.
To make this love grow.

I needed to be better.
For you and for me.
To just get a little closer.
And be all I could be.

So I practiced and practiced.
Until I was the most improved.
And than I practiced some more.
With some more difficult moves.

Because like I said.
I wasn't the best.
But for you I would try.
To complete the quest.

To be better than perfection.
And conquer the curse.
So I wouldn't be below the greatest.
Or above the worst.
