For Your Eyes Only Poem by Wayne Wickham

For Your Eyes Only

memories
of times long past
of recent occurrences
good and bad
they always return
sometimes to plague
sometimes to remind
part of our lives that can never be
fully erased
events of today
remembered tomorrow
and brought to the editing table
of the mind
where they are cut and stripped
of unimportant details until
the final memory
is set on the shelf
awaiting the next showing
on the screen of the mind's eye
