Those of us left behind…
Struggle in a different way
Bowing to Universal will…
Standing in disbelief as loved ones
Fade from our view

Those of us left behind,
Destined, one day, for the same journey
Drop salted tears and
Smile through taught lips…
Our hearts aching

Those of us left behind, still breathe life
Yet, view the world differently now
Seeing visions painted by an unknown artist…
Soul paintings on a canvas of intermingled lives

Those of us left behind,
Know the physical presence is gone
But that spirit and memories
live forever.
