Forever After Poem by Kay Davies

Forever After

Forever after or so I thought,
Your ever after has left me distraught,
The love of my life, has been ripped away.
My heart is torn, and has been led astray,
Not a day goes by that your name doesn't seep from my mind,
Not a moment goes by that my heart doesn't brake.
I wish to hear your voice, or to curl up in your arms.
To feel protected and loved; without wondering what is comming next,
To hold your hand or look into your thoughtful eye,
To see your smile or to watch you laugh.
I feel myself forgetting little things about you,
The sound of your tough voice,
The strength in your hugs,
Your ability to heal every problem I ever faced.
I need you here, becase you were all I had,
Now I am lost in the world, No one to keep my head held high.
Without your strength I will fade way,
Nothing left of you except for material things.
So much you have taught me, yet so much have I left to learn.
As I cry here silently I think of all you have done.
All the lives you have touched, and how lucky I have been.
But then I think of all of the things I will never again see,
the things I will never again feel, think or hear.
I don't want my heart to beat, I don't want to have to breath, I don't want to have to move on.
No little task to take you farther away.
I want you here.... Here to stay.
