Forever Lost Poem by Amy Lawrence

Forever Lost

Upon my gaze I could see
That you comprehended me effortlessly
Spoke of forever, yet I surmise
Those words perhaps were mere disguise

And now we're standing on a different road
Memories linger but the flames have slowed
Is forever just a whisper in the wind?
Or a promise broken left behind?

My heart still echoes with the words you said
Midnight promises, dancing in my head
I tried to hold on, but you slipped away
And now our forever is just yesterday
