I know a place
That is so dark
There are laws
Forbidding lark
Where the plants
Held no life
And the only escape
Is with the knife
I know a place
That is so cold
That the warmth
Is never told
Where children cry
And happy dreams
Are broken by
Horrid screams
I knew a boy
Who was so sad
And his father
Was always mad
I saw him leave
This blacken night
To return
To the light
I knew a place
That I called home
That locked me in
A binding dome
But I escaped
Into the light
And left behind
Forever Night.
