Forget I Shall Not Poem by Jessa Hughes

Forget I Shall Not

Both are in despair
Lost is love we once did hold
Hate beneath the place, falsehood spoken in the end
The hand you hold it not my own
Hand in which I with hold takes your place
I still do not love another
but it time I will learn to mend and love again
mend the heart in which you did once promise not to break
You did once promise not to break my heart
the promise you broke, of many, this it be the one I will never forgive you for in last
Love we shared seemed once pure and true
disagree on this I do
It was selfish love we did so hold
Realize in the end I have
It twas selfish love we held dear close
You told me secrets I shall never tell
Not even if you let mine unfold
I now do not love you
I wish the man who claims to love me now
I could trust but I was broken from that
You do not have a connection to me now
Not a piece that will hurt me so
Each time I read a new book
Hear a song
or have time to think alone
my heart breaks a little more
memories of you reappear
Because forget you I can not
Everywhere I turn something reminds of you who once withheld my love
I do not love you
I do not even care about you
But forget you dear one this I can not
Not every flame is forgotten
You know me well, I know you almost as much
Happy you are there not even thinking of me
Forget me you already told me you will not
Your are self-absorbed, self-centered and conceded
Stated “I hope you can get over me”
Slowly I let you fall from my grasp
my mind is losing each piece I withheld about you
I love you not
I miss you neither
I care about you, no this is untrue
Lust for you, dear, I never will
Forget you this I shall not
