Forgive Me All Those I Should Have Been A Writer For Poem by Shalom Freedman

Forgive Me All Those I Should Have Been A Writer For

If only I had been a real writer
I might have done justice to some of it-
But I cannot
I am too old
And was never really good enough-

The past is lost
As I will be lost
And I did not do it justice
Forgive me all those who I should have been a writer for-

You will not be remembered truly as you were-
And I will not be either
