To the ones born today and those born tomorrow
This is from the ones who knew the evils and you live with now
Forgive us
Forgive us, for choosing greed over compassion
For choosing monsters to be our leaders
For sacrificing democracy for our self interest
So that the ignorant could eat the crumbs of the few
Forgive us, we tried, to fight against the selfish tide
Against those who think equality is a crime
That healthcare and education should be bought
And those who cant purchase should be left to rot
Forgive us, for selling you a God in the name of hate
That he only loves you if your rich, white and straight
I'm sorry if you now live in fear of who you were born to be
That it kills you to live a lie so you have to face conformity
Forgive us for selling your future for our comforts
We were stuck in our bubbles and being moral cowards
The writing was on the wall but most chose not to read
And now your the ones who are paying for our deeds
Forgive us for this hell that we have created
So that now you are forced like animals to survive
It isn't fair that you have to pay the price of our crimes
While I am now dust you get know peace of mind
We tried so hard, to make a better world
A world where fairness and compassion reigned
Instead we caved in to our own hate and fear
Where ignorance spawned from blind faiths and creeds
Forgive us, or you can damn us
For we have damned all of you.

It's to the point. Great job, Kevin. (Let's hope the future will not consider this poem, and others like it, as propaganda and demand it to be banned and burned. Or has this already been done in history?
