Forgive? Yes! Forget? No! Poem by Victor Adex

Forgive? Yes! Forget? No!

Forgive? Yes, Forget? No!
Too many roses have stained history's snows
Blunted arrows and broken bows
But forgive me must

Shall we forget when the noose hung
From the hate that produced
The hate that hate produced?

Convince the Jews of Sobibor
With a nice tailored speech
And kin-less chicks of the hawk's screech?

Ignorance is no bliss, and calmness no peace
After great calm, are greater storms
I've heard peace preached, but violence procured

Catacombs of greatness lured
Upon bone- thin future of war children
Shall the François ever forget?
The gushing of heil Hitler across his streets

Hear the crushing pearls at the harbour
Falling towers, missing school girls
Shall we forget them too?

Causalities of war, collateral damages
Blood toils and tears
Along circles of repeat coils
Shall we still forget and again, ignore?
