Forgiveness Poem by Armadillo Poet

Forgiveness

A violent mute long expelled to the hills
Seeing once a multitude around a teacher
Witnessed miracles performed

The mute saw the legs of a man he had crippled
Grow from twisted to straight

The eyes of a blind man he had gouged
Refill and roll and blink

The mind of a woman he'd raped
Restore and become calm

The violent mute walked from the hills
To the place where the teacher prayed

On his knees he looked upwards
His split tongue waggling
His tears filling his mouth

The Lord replied by drowning the mute
And the multitude
