Forgiveness Prayer Poem by Andrew J. Koehn

Forgiveness Prayer

Rating: 5.0

Lord, forgive me, I know what I’ve done.
I’ve trampled the blood of Your precious Son.
I’ve squandered the grace You’ve given to me.
I know that I’ve sinned and I want to be free.

You told me to follow, that You would lead.
I’ve failed again, and now I must plead
For forgiveness, for the washing away
Of the sins I’ve committed. Save me, today!

I’ve fallen away; I’ve walked my own path.
I know I deserve all of Your wrath.
But Lord, I’ve decided, on You I’ll fall.
I’ll forget myself, and give you my all

I’d rather just serve at the Master’s estate
Than reign in this world and be someone great.
My flesh feels the pain, the death of self.
It knows it’s cast out, not kept on a shelf.

So Lord, here’s my life, I surrender to You.
I’m forsaking the world, I’m done, and I’m through.
Change me and make me into something useful.
From now until death, I will be faithful!
