Gavin Campbell

Forgotten - Poem by Gavin Campbell

He is always lying in front of the guys
Tall tales and fairy tales
That get taller as time flies by
Stuck in a rut and hooked on a feeling
He is blinded and naive and locked in his cell
Belittled by his boys and abandoned by his peers
He now stands alone in his oblivion
Robbed of confidence, by those he called his confidants
And long forgotten by those, though he himself unable
To forget the ones who have forgotten.
