Forgotten Pain Poem by Anne Lacy

Forgotten Pain

Why do they always assume
The pain that grew
Has suddenly dimmed
And you are somehow whole again?
Sunshine, roses
Don’t they see
The dark black clouds
And lightening
That surrounds your heart?
But assume they do
And you have been forced to live another day
Without anyone else to see
Your dark black clouds of suffering
