Formidable Pretender Poem by Quênia Lalita

Formidable Pretender

spot your name everywhere
pretty sure the universe doesn't care
if i wanna forget your promises
if i wanna correct the numbness

after one shot or one thousand
pretty sure i'll be a formidable pretender
if i'm gonna turn snow into sand
if i'm gonna be in jail for slander

this stuff doesn't get simpler with age
i am still not used to this stage
in fact i remain in the cage
from that time i almost got engaged

oh the air is getting thicker again
i could eat it with a knife and fork
gonna blame the gods for our end
can't be shamed for another poor work
