Fortified City - Poem by Nakesha Banks

I will sweep up the pieces of my heart that are left
I will leave behind any feeling of the things I felt
whether good or bad I will let them go
Clear my memory cause I never wanna know
I will build a wall with bricks made of sorrow
bind them together with yesterdays tears
and thoughts of tommorow
No windows no doors
I will hurt no more
A ceiling of sadness inside filled with madness
Broken
shattered
split
or
splattered
Never aggain will my heart be
vonerable to love
because captive it will be
not because of me................but because of you
