Forward Then Homeward Poem by Kristina Tapayan

Forward Then Homeward

Where the sunset
Kissed the valley,
There the twilight
Breaks through ever-free,

Come now, wee child
Take one breath,
For at the edge
Lies your death,

In her meadows
Wide and vast,
Lay the answers
From your wanted past,

Run past swiftly
Pay her cost,
But not any less
Or you'll be lost,

Now she will seek
For those who search,
But will you brace
For what will lurch?

And in your woes
Whispers and vows to keep,
Burdens shared
Will you take the leap?

When the dusk dims
A man's alone with his thoughts,
There awaits a clear line
Where you have to cross,

Come now, wee child
Get back homeward,
All left for you now
Is to go forward,
