Four Little Words Poem by Rob Pulver

Four Little Words

Rating: 5.0

Those youthful days of fun and games
Subconsciously testing, openly probing
All that is new and hopeful and sought
And all the time growing and growing

If you just wait awhile
Between the jokes, to show yourself
Keep breathing and steady your nerve
Will love find you?

Beyond the majesty of music
On wild summers days and cool heady nights
In open spaces and jumping rooms
Enjoyed with the crazy beautiful people

If you just wait awhile
Between the notes, to take a breath
And dance together to a steady beat
Love will find you

New sublime love in endless days
Gorging yourself on their company
A visual and oratory feast for all
Fears leaving, tears falling

If you just wait awhile
Between the strokes, to slow your breath
Hearts beating, sinews stretching
You will find love

No solitary act compares to sharing
Random thoughts and rambling walks
Through forests and parks of many animals
Soaking your souls and drawing life in the sand

And then if you stay awhile
Between the knocks, to show your heart
And truly, honestly, deeply, share yourself
Find love, you will
