Fourth Wall Poem by David Lovell

Fourth Wall

Can this really be true?
Seems so contradictory to prior knowledge
Even as I say it cannot be so it comes
Into being, made more manifest, more concrete
I fear greatly this seeming of what I so greatly desire
Appearances deceive, what appears real is often illusory
Like the set of a TV show when it comes onto the screen
The real question begs to be answered:
Is there a fourth wall?
