Statue Poem by David Lovell

Statue

Rating: 5.0

I am immobile and useless
How did it all begin?
I know well now, hindsight is 20/20
I ceased to see when I wouldn’t look inside
I lost the use of my legs when I ceased to walk in Your ways
The sense of feeling terminated when I no longer cared to touch the lives of others
The list grew day by day
In response my heart hardened little by little
One day was too hard to beat anymore
Now my entire being is rock,
Man of stone
