Fractured Reflections Poem by Samuel Jones

Fractured Reflections

Rating: 5.0

Fear's silent screams, shame's hidden scars,
Memories of fear, near and far.
He's not the man in the mirror's gaze,
A confident facade, yet a heart locked deep in haze.

Alone and scared, empty reflections stare,
A hollow echo that's hard to bear.
As darkness gathers, life's clarity fades,
Time's urgency calls, to face the shadows made.

To stand tall, cease the pain, and face the test,
But what unknown truth must he confront best?
Out of breath, breathing hard, with no reprieve,
The weight of lies crushes, his heart does heave.

The figure he presented, a crafted disguise,
A clever defense, that hid his true demise.
Fabrications voiced, far and wide,
Proud ears devoured, the deceptive tide.

A new life started, with a false face worn,
Pretending to be someone, in an unknown place forlorn.
Retribution came, with a gentle might,
Reflecting all the hurt, he had ignited in the night.

From what he thought was simple dishonesty,
Came to be his biggest misery.
Revealing a web of deceit,
A crafted mask, that concealed his soul's beat.

I was the impostor, in my own seat,
My second persona, a reflection to meet.
What lies in the mirror,
Is a shadow of memories, forever etched.
