Fragrant Still

Ah, My place of birth!
Lilacs lavender the same
Perfuming the earth.
From the arbor there,
Breathes the lusciousness
of grapes,
Purpling all the air.
From the garden bare,
Comes the smell of mint
and thyme,

Through the years still rare.
