Freak Show Poem by Hyde

Freak Show

come one come all, and see the freak.
it has no soul, no heart, no cheek.

bring you mothers and your fathers.
your sisters and your brothers.

the expense is no burden, as it’s practically free.
adults five dollars, and children two-fifty.

this freak deserves no gender.
for then it’s heart would not feel tender.

below the dirt is where this creature belongs.
hidden and veiled from Earth’s joyous song.

it will not hiss, and it will not claw.
it will just lie still, beneath your awe.

and if terror is what you seek, then come at feeding time to receive a visual splendor.
yet the kin be best left at home, so as to spare their mind of the horror.

it takes it’s trusty blade, and hacks away it’s itch for love.
and it grins a ruthless grin, as it guzzles it’s own blood.

so get away from your life’s troubles and sins.
come see the freak, and the uncanniness within.
