I have loved you for almost half my life now.
I saw us getting old together and sharing many memories.
Yet here we are so close to falling apart.
Maybe we already have and I've been too blind to see it.
I can still hope that you will change your mind but even that
is slowly fading away from me.
There isn't much that I can do now that will change your mind.
I suppose the best thing was to let you go but somehow I
wasn't able to just yet.
Prolonging this has been horrible for the both of us.
As I sit here writing this, I feel sad but also relieved because I
think I'm finally ready to.
I have a hard journey ahead of me but I think these last few
months have helped prepare me.
I will always love you but I finally feel confident enough to
be me for a change.
So I am setting you free and in doing so I am finally free myself.
