Free Again Poem by Cassandra Howell

Free Again

The Devil no longer clings to me
And I no longer to him
God is stronger than he could ever be
And He has forgiven my sin

Constantly, I heard His call
But I repeatedly closed my ears
He knew my sorrows and saw them all
He could lovingly take away my fears

I was headed straight for tormenting fire
To the Devil, I was bound
I turned to him to lift me higher
I heard his every sound

Like a flash of lightening
Jesus' words struck my soul
And the Devil's grip, was no longer tightening
Only Christ could make me whole

I completely turned myself over to Him
And let His love brightly shine
I finally let His work begin
And left my old ways behind
