Free At Last Poem by Shelly-Ann Legg

Free At Last

I'm tearing down these walls
That contributed to my downfalls
I'm freeing myself out of this captivity
Visualising my goals, my life and this reality

No longer will I settle for less when there's more
No more doubting myself when I'm sure
I'll laugh and write away my pain
God promises sunshine after the rain

I'm breaking out of these bars
So at last I can see the stars
No surrender, no retreat I want to be relieve
Better days, brighter nights I believe

I'm putting out the fire
Freeing myself to finally rise higher
No more hurt so happy so glad
Moving on with my father to the promise land
