Gave Up Poem by Shelly-Ann Legg

Shattered and broken I was
Lonely and desolate too
Looked for answers but thought this ordeal was a must
Wish I was dreaming but it was too true

I tried to laugh but tears came
His my true feelings from this cruel world
Then I realized nothing would ever be the same
Just another victim, another little girl

Everyday and night I asked God why
And at times I felt the need to die and rot
All I was left to do was cry
Living a normal life I just could not

I wanted to rise up and be strong
Long were the days I cried and sigh
And because all I did was so wrong
I gave up and died in the sky
