Freedom! Poem by Aarzoo Mehek

Freedom!

Rating: 5.0

The moment I directed my thoughts towards Him
It changed the way I perceived this world
The fear of being overpowered subsided
And the pain of confinement receded
My heart encountered the truth in motion
My being slowly poisoned in portions
The fear to live had killed all notions
As I struggled to make peace with thyself
I broke all the spells of fear, unfolding myself
I realized masterminds could be powerless too
In the face of reality they are helpless too
Clever gimmicks won't take them far
Cheap tactics will not make them stars
Their power to rule is momentary
Their sugar coated words are all starry
Glad I freed myself from the prison
Putting back all the reasons and seasons
As I rejoice in my so called freedom.

Beautiful, beautiful...The reality of this life is often too much to bear. But if we form a bond with God, our troubles simply go away. And true sense of freedom comes from this...when we stop caring about the worldly gains. As long as we are part of the rat race, there's simply no freedom. A spiritual awakening is true freedom. Well done my friend.

The life of this world is nothing but a true story of struggle, at times it is done individually and at times in a group. The struggle to overcome every problem is essence of life, it also keep us moving all the time. I enjoyed reading your poem.........10++++

You write of deep emotional feelings. Sometimes, trying to make such profound feelings fit a rhyme, constrains the full impact. May I humbly suggest trying to let these very personal thoughts flow in the way they occur to you without trying to have to force a rhyme. I do enjoy rhyme, but sometimes it limits the authors scope. You are a creative and eloquent poet, perhaps this could broaden your reach. Peace

The real emancipation comes through our encounter with God! No balm can lessen our pain! No magic potion can effect a cure! Only God can do that.....! Aarzoo, I too firmly believe in the all encompassing love of the Almighty and the relief it gives and the sense of true freedom we come to enjoy. On nobody, we can depend completely for support or solace. Today's friends may turn tomorrow's foes! A lovely poem!
