Freedom? Poem by Tequia Taylor

Freedom?

Freedom?
Please tell me the definition
Forget the past and all of these superstitions
Daily;
I ask the question'Are we free? '
With life you say we are
But as I say we aren't
Literally
You see it all sums up
Our minds are still in slavery
You let the past affect our lives today
'Oh nah we free! '
But listen thats what THEY say
The word free is invisible to me
It fades away everyday constantly
So when you ask 'How doess freedom affect our lives in which we live? '
Oh no; take it back, the word freedom i can't give
I'm not free, you not free, we not free
But before i die, oh i plan on being free
Our minds are enclosed by our reflection
Yet, they ask'why we can't live life with perfection'
You really should be looking at where we are going besides where we came from
See all of these additions at the end there is no sum
Until you convert there will be no change
You have to realize that life is classified in an opposite range
All, because of a different race
you try to criticize
All, because of a different race
you try to hate
All, because of a different race
you try to fight
Though the cow can be brown, but the milk still going to turn out white
This life today reminds me about the battle of Antietam
Which explains why I can't see the word freedom
