They are the wise ones,
The elders who teach and preach.
Weren't they young ever
Like us
Fooling around and blundering,
I thought.
Sir, weren't you? I asked nervously
He seemed to lead the group.
We grew up learned and wise, he said
How?
Very simple; by first-hand learning,
We observed, experimented,
And, improvised.
I was impressed.
They did not attend any school,
They had no books
And no homework.
Ah! The freedom they enjoyed.
