the nest no matter
how warm
cannot keep the birds
forever
there is always a day
ripe for flying away
the fish too cannot live
forever
in the mouth of its mother
there is a time in the sea
for swimming away
and finding one's
new destiny
mother's arms that cradles
you
gives way to
your new found freedom too
no nest, no corals, no arms
holds a bird, a fish, a boy
forever
