Freedoms Rights - Poem by Gordon Jerome

When the towers came down
They rattled the town
And sent a shockwave through our American soul
We vowed to find those to blame
For their cowardly shame
And make them pay a most righteous toll
But as we continue this fight
For freedoms due right
And to protect from such terrorist rule
There are those in the crowd
Now screaming out loud
That the United States is acting the fool
They say we’re just there for gas
I say to them KISS MY ASS
And do you think all your freedoms came free
Many brave souls have fought
And died as they sought
These very freedoms we enjoy you and me
So when you question this war
Remember just what its for
It’s not for any so-called political gain
But to defend this nations land
To show united we STILL stand
For freedoms right in our country to reign.
“closing thought”
Never should time be allowed to cloud your thought
Keep fresh in your mind the conclusion that you sought
