Fremantle Beach Poem by Dr Sunil Govinnage

Fremantle Beach

As the sun dives
into the Mute Sea
across the western edge
a shadowy rainbow fades
into the sky
painted with rusted red.

Sea waves carry
ivory-coloured froth to the shore,
bringing memories
of my faded love.

The evening breeze whispers
As a message coming over the ocean
Bringing her sweet lullaby.

My heart aches
no songs to stop the waves,
memories don't evaporate like see froth.
