Fresh Air Needed Poem by Courtney Steele

Fresh Air Needed

Rating: 2.1

Throughout my life I have known that I’m special
Living can’t breathe it’s too much pressure
It involves too many lectures
Offered as spoken words
Unhappiness results of my now wrecked nerves
Can’t run away the problems are now mental
Complexity why isn’t it simple?
Mentor my mind.
I’m slipping, I’m running, & I’m falling behind
Not in gaps but in the traps of the world
Father please help this black little girl
People look at me and wish that I was different
I am you just choose not to listen
I have ambition
I just choose not the aim
Maybe a lost player that chooses not to follow in the game
Dazed in a lost way lonely standing on the highway
Don’t pass by & pass those whom cry
Or those whom beg near those whom are high
What is standby?
When visitants never come
Heart pounding as loud as drums?
Who can you beat?
Love don’t compete.
That’s only pride!
Conceit perfects its art of disguise.
