I hear the words you never speak
I sense the pain you never show
I see the wounds that never bleed
I feel the tears that flow hidden deep within
I admire the strength that you have harnessed
I understand the seeds of anger and rage
I bare witness to this woman, this battered child
I lash out to those who do not hear your screams
I watch as you weave your web of self protection
I sit silent as the prey falls victim to your charm
I know well your survivors dance of pain
I question under my breath to whom does it belong
I have only words to gift you now
I accept that trust has long been forgotten you
I offer you my hand when help is needed
I offer you my heart when you are cold and alone
I offer you my shoulder if you are broken and hurt
I offer you my loyalty when others betray you
I call you by name
I call you friend
I call you by knowing
I call....
