Friendly Persuasion Poem by Deanna Samuels

Many things we would like to do
which never leave the ground.
That dream vacation on distant shores
and still remains in brochure
or starting a new, exciting project
but ideas don't seem to flow.
Seeking a new partner to call one's own
so hard to find,
moving to new location for life renewed,
too nervous to give up what one knows.
Climbing the heights of Everest
so daunting,
exploring ancient sites of by-gone age
much too over-whelming.
Then life takes a turn, a friend comes by,
the heart opens
some gentle guidance,
friendly persuasion
and boom!
Courage, determination, projection,
a corner turned, a life changed,
the dreams take flight.
