Friendship Poem by Pranjal Rajiv Bagadiya

Friendship

Today I stand and glance the world
And see the world shattered into the pieces.
Though they belong to the same MOTHER EARTH;
And are made of the same clay and sand
And meet in the same dust at the end.

Just as the soil differs in characteristics and colour;
Be it red or black, fertile or infertile.
It belongs to the same MOTHER EARTH.

Just as the mountain differs in size and shape;
Yet has it's own beauty and name.

Just as the water differs in origin, colour & taste:
Whether it belongs to the river, sea or ocean.
Water-in all is essential for life and survival!

So do we all human differ
In size & colour, feature & shape;
By origin & language, caste & creed.
Yet we belong to the same MOTHER EARTH.

Inspite of this, why I see today-
Hatred amongst people, war between countries?
For this very earth's resources;
That teaches us peace and cooperation.

All different trees together make the forest;
All different rivers together make the sea;
All different rocks together grind into the soil;
Then why can't different countries work together:
For welfare of humanity, progress & development?

Let love and peace substitute envy and violence,
Let all countries join hands for friendship
And sign a treaty of BROTHERHOOD & WELFARE.
So that tomorrow I can see the world
Comprising of ONE SINGLE FAMILY!
