Friendships Are Never How They Appear Poem by Chanyn Fuller

Friendships Are Never How They Appear

No one had ever heard the wind blow like this before
It’s as deafening as a flat line, yours for certain.
And I never thought you’d be this promiscuous
Shallow is how you are identified, now you float
Among these restless minds with no need for bodies
I leave this your sanctuary, I have never lived
According to them but I am fine with that
I don’t need anyone to help me, and I will
Prove me self evident, I believe this is your
Way of making affirmation that I am coming to an close
With the assistance of my alliances that come to
Lengthy ends. It’s been far too long since we have
Associated and I admire it, it has taken long
Enough for this realization.
