From Darkness I Arise Poem by Mohammad Younus

From Darkness I Arise

From darkness, I rise
To greet time's eternal light.
Each day, reborn anew
In the breaths of the Divine.

In the sacred lake of Hu,
My soul swims, it dives—
Crossing the lake of Hu
Toward hymns of silence.

Swim, dive; swim, dive—
Beginnings end, endings start.
Redemption ignites,
A flame sparked by the Divine.

As echoes rise and answer
In voices soft yet true,
The virgin morning whispers:
Hu—and bids the night adieu.
