From Faith To Faith! Poem by Denis Martindale

In Roman times, when gods were rife, with sacrifices made,
No wonder men encountered strife for those to be obeyed.
At times, some men gave their reports, of signs and wonders seen,
Yet God, of course, had other thoughts and blessed a Nazarene.
Beyond a famine of God's word, Lord Jesus preached anew,
So parables were often heard by Gentile and by Jew.
Then miracles from Heaven flowed, anointings of God's love,
Despite the power that these showed, all these proved not enough.

So this man Jesus raised the dead, to prove Himself to be,
The Son of God now Spirit-led, the chosen one to see.
A multitude of people came to listen to the Lord,
Such was the honour of His Name Christ could not be ignored.
But opposition was Man's way that led Christ to His Cross,
Yet Jesus knew He had to stay, right there, to suffer loss.
When Jesus left His darkened tomb, God changed Man's worldly views,
Faith overturned Man's sense of doom, first starting with the Jews.

A Royal Pardon waits for those who seek to get baptised,
Who trust the Saviour who once rose and proved Himself the Christ!
