From My Father Poem by Genevieve Surrender

From My Father

Rating: 5.0

She was born to a world
she seemed to already know
Her smile and her eyes
were always aglow
Her laugh would be loud
when Ian would joke
and began to walk ground
way before other folk.
From the first I knew
she would move every eye.
I knew all this too
when her mother would cry.
Now here she is, my baby
and all I can say
You are a beautiful young lady
in every good way.
Don't go far from me, girl
When you leave my home
because you are my pearl
and I'll be all alone.
