From Nightmare to Dawn:
In the depths of night—
a monstrous dream.
With dawn, the terror dissolves,
your gasping breath fading
into morning's hush.
Yet no hand flips a switch,
no one lifts the sun
when your inner flame dims.
No sentinel guards the threshold,
no voice returns from the one you call—
only silence, vast and unbroken.
Walls thin to smoke.
The earth unravels.
Even the shadow of fear
offers no reply.
Yet within the womb of endless dark,
a flicker stirs—
delicate as a moth's wing,
faint as a dying star.
A half-remembered glimmer of sun,
a whisper of warmth,
a pulse beneath the ash.
Then— a spark.
A slender thread of gold
cleaves the dark,
weaves light through your ribs,
unspools the gloom.
Walls turn transparent.
Echoes hum.
Shadows dissolve to dust.
And when the new sun rises,
your breath does not falter—
it blazes.
Rise—
each footstep strikes flint,
and dawn smolders in your tread.
