From Suspicion To Serenity... Poem by Denis Martindale

From Suspicion To Serenity...

As I looked around, it seemed
that I felt suspicious of everything.
As if life on Earth had been stunned
and gloom was everywhere.

There I stood,
trying to regain and restore
my share of refreshment,
by opening my heart once again with hope.

I had tried,
but up to then, I had found nothing,
so I was still suspicious
and the gloom was all about me as before.

My feet felt as if they had got stuck in stone,
so I was stopped from passing further along.
I glanced at something I saw. It was a bright light.
Then I noticed the wonderful fragrance of flowers.

Both experiences quickly renewed my heart,
and in so doing, they refreshed my mind with serenity.

Based on a quora topic, here is an edition version:
It's a reminder of Jesus and His resurrection and
the precise time just before Jesus left the Tomb.
