From The Heart Of A Child Poem by Sir Montgomery

From The Heart Of A Child

She kneels down
and closes her eyes
and cries.

It seems as though
people judge her
simply cause she looks like an adult
but honestly,
she is no different from that toddler

Why is it that they loved her so much
when she was young
but as she grew older
they wouldn't love her
unless she did something that pleased them

Her dreams didn't matter
It was their dreams she had come to fulfill.
It seemed.

Her parents wanted her to be one,
Her grandparents another,
Society another.

Left in the middle,
She had no voice,
She didn't even know what SHE wanted
because all her life,
they decided for her.

It was no longer her life
was it?
It was their life.
And what was the point of her?

She cried.
She asked.
Who to ask?
Who to beg?
How does she find & know her own heart?
