Frozen Poem by Jade Harmony

Rating: 1.0

I try to live my life,
But how can I?
With your voice haunting my every word?
With your words closing up my every thought?
With your eyes following my every step?

I can't shake off your icy grip.
The cold traps me in your iron prison.
The claustrophobia-
Of no way out,
Of no where to run,
Of no place to hide,
Slaps me in the face.

My fears grow with my every breath.
I try to conquer my fears.
I try to approach you with kindness.
But how can I?
When your every word is filled with disgust?
When you deny my love as if it were fake?
When you could care less if I cry in pain?

The swirling walls of my cage-
Remain invisible to the outside.
Everyone's indifference makes me fall even faster.
You take in my suffering with a smile.
Laughing as I fall off the brink,
Into my own pit of insanity.

I can't help but ask myself-
When will I stop loving you?
Or will I always wear the scars of these chains?
