Full Moon Poem by Reginald Ruwende

Full Moon

Sliver of splendor
Scything the night sky
Waxing,
Rising,
Oh!
Thy grandeur

Muster thy luster
Expose the graft
I bet you heard
The indistinct purring sound
Generators on the roar
The now trending cliche,
'Magetsi aenda'

From a certain altitude
Behold my little Wayne
Nonchalantly roaming about
Notwithstanding the darkness
Prompts me to stretch thread of ponder
Prospectsof a bleaker future,
A struggle protracted

Behold Comrade Candle
On the wane,
Moaning until mourning
The demise of General ZESA
Sorely missed by Lieutenant Solar,
Unwavering camaraderie

A hapless citizenry
Wondering and wandering
Zombified by the engulfing gloom
Stalled in their stalls
Smiting the incumbent
Authors of blackouts intermittent,
A sepulchral atmosphere

Shed thy light
Let thy luminescence
Thy ubiquitous presence
Quell the pummeling gloom
The ever impending doom
Truncate the phase
Exorcise the haze
