Futile Renunciation! Poem by Dr Mohammed Younis Dar

Futile Renunciation!

This air of indifference never augments my
pain...
You do it better with a stroke of compassion...
My feelings for you do wax and wane...
But a flicker remains to sustain the tension.
The garden is wearing a deserted picture...
With crestfallen birds listening to my song...
God bless Naruda fr this wound-healer:
Love is short, forgetting is so long!
Tossing with fever, was admitted in the ward...
It is endocarditis, ECHO reveals a ring-abscess...
O you who cure! don't touch my heart...
The holes punched by her have come to
bussiness!
Saw you today after almost a fort-night...
Had persuaded myself to endure thy partition...
With an indelible mark left by your sight...
It is no PSM that i'll forget every definition..

(PSM is the name of a subject that Mbbs students are supposed to read in final prof, the definitions are tormenting quite difficult to memorize)
