G.F. Poem by Chris Haifley

G.F.

Remember the day, when the sun shone bright,
When the rain was pure,
And you could walk in the street at night?
Remember the days when we had so much trust,
Where we could breathe, and look,
And our souls were purged of lust?

Do you remember the prairie?
Remember the woods?
Remember the snow,
And all the fur-lined hoods?

What I would give to go back to that time!
To go back and get away from these blasted Southern pines,
I would give anything to obtain what I lack!
The South has stole my innocence, and I want it back.
