Gador Poem by RIC BASTASA

Gador

Gador was left in an island
hot and bare

his mind is obsessed with the boa
with two white eggs

behind the cave where he dwells
lies the nest of the black bird

his feet do not grow
his brain smells like chloroform

he learns to love it there
and shall soon die there

only if he wills it.
